TOCON_E2 – Precision UV Index Sensor for Continuous Erythema-Weighted Solar Radiation and Environmental Monitoring

The TOCON_E2 from SGLUX GmbH is a factory-calibrated erythema-weighted UV Index (UVI) sensor designed for reliable and accurate solar radiation measurement.
It integrates a Silicon Carbide (SiC) photodiode, a CIE erythema-matched optical filter, and a low-noise transimpedance amplifier in one compact TOCON housing.
This design delivers a linear 0–5 V DC output, directly proportional to the UV Index, without the need for external electronics or calibration.
With high solar blindness (>10¹⁰) and temperature-stabilised circuitry, the TOCON_E2 ensures stable readings under changing sunlight and climate conditions.
Each sensor is traceably calibrated to NIST/PTB standards, guaranteeing reproducible results for scientific, industrial, and public applications.

The TOCON_E2 measures biologically effective ultraviolet radiation in the 280–400 nm range, corresponding to the CIE erythema action spectrum.
