SG01L-E5 – High-Sensitivity UV Index Photodiode for Accurate Solar Erythema and Environmental Radiation Measurement

The SG01L-E5 from SGLUX GmbH is a precision erythema-weighted UV photodiode engineered for accurate UV Index and solar radiation monitoring.
Built using Silicon Carbide (SiC) detector technology, the SG01L-E5 features excellent solar blindness (>10¹⁰) and a spectral response closely matching the CIE erythema action curve, allowing precise measurement of biologically effective UV radiation.
Its compact and stable design makes it ideal for integration into UV Index monitoring devices, environmental stations, and health-safety instrumentation.
With ultra-low dark current, high linearity, and a wide operating temperature range (−55 °C to +170 °C), it ensures dependable operation even under extreme climatic conditions.
The sensor is factory-calibrated and traceable to NIST/PTB standards, guaranteeing reliable and repeatable performance for professional meteorological and scientific applications.

The SG01L-E5 UV Index Photodiode measures erythemally effective ultraviolet radiation within 221–358 nm, corresponding to the UV range responsible for skin erythema.
It operates as a pure UV photodiode, offering high stability, low noise, and linear response to incident UV intensity.
Its SiC-based solar-blind structure ensures complete insensitivity to visible and infrared light, providing precise erythema-weighted UV Index readings.
The compact TO-46 metal-can package enables seamless integration into environmental sensors, wearable UV monitors, and scientific systems requiring high reliability, traceable calibration, and long-term durability.
