High-Performance On-the-Fly Laser Marking Machine for Fast Production

In today’s fast-paced manufacturing environment, efficiency and precision are more critical than ever. Laser Marking On The Fly (LMOF) technology has emerged as a revolutionary solution, enabling high-speed, accurate marking on products as they move along production lines. This advanced approach seamlessly integrates with continuous production processes, offering unparalleled flexibility and productivity.

United Spectrum Instruments is the official channel partner for LASIT Laser (Italy) in India, specialising in advanced on-the-fly fiber laser marking systems. Our machines come standard with a 20W fiber laser, with upgrade options to 30W or 50W, ensuring flexibility for diverse industrial applications.

Laser Marking On The Fly, also known as dynamic laser marking, is a sophisticated technique that allows for precise marking, engraving, or coding on products as they move along a conveyor belt or production line. This technology eliminates the need to stop or slow down the production process for marking, significantly enhancing overall efficiency.

  • Rapid Task Changeover: Switch between jobs swiftly with minimal downtime.
  • Maintains Quality at Varied Speeds: Ensures precision regardless of production pace.

 Cost-Effective Solution

  • Lower Operational Costs: Increased efficiency reduces overall expenses.
  • Reduced Labour Needs: Automation minimizes manpower requirements.
  • Minimal Consumables: No inks, solvents, or wear parts needed, saving costs long-term.

Food & Beverage Packaging

On-the-fly laser marking is extensively used for high-throughput packaging lines where real-time marking of expiry dates, batch codes, and traceability identifiers is essential. The system operates without interrupting line movement, offering non-contact, hygienic laser coding on PET bottles, aluminium cans, pouches, and laminated cartons. It complies with FSMA and FSSAI traceability requirements, ensuring product safety and regulatory alignment.

Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices

LMOF systems deliver UDI-compliant, high-resolution markings on medical devices, blister packs, glass ampoules, and pill containers. The technology supports tamper-evident coding, anti-counterfeit marks, and precise serialisation, critical for pharmaceutical supply chains. Markings are resistant to chemical sterilisation and abrasion, supporting ISO 13485 and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance frameworks.

Automotive & Aerospace Components

In sectors like automotive and aerospace, LMOF ensures permanent identification of parts such as gears, housings, engine blocks, and turbine blades. Marks like VIN numbers, safety certification logos, lot codes, and inspection stamps are applied dynamically during assembly or post-machining. The system handles harsh substrates (steel, aluminium alloys, composites) with high contrast and zero thermal deformation.

Electronics and Semiconductor Manufacturing

Laser marking on the fly enables micron-level identification on fast-moving production lines for PCBs, semiconductor wafers, connectors, and microelectronic casings. Serial numbers, QR codes, pin configurations, and ESD tracking labels can be engraved without line stoppage. The system integrates easily with SMT lines and pick-and-place systems, maintaining high positional accuracy even at elevated speeds.

General Industrial & Tool Manufacturing

For industrial tools, hardware, and fabricated components, on-the-fly marking facilitates batch tracking, part traceability, and operator instructions directly on components like shafts, valves, and flanges. The system is built for IP-rated environments, operating reliably under exposure to oil, dust, and vibration. Its adaptability to changing part geometries and line speeds makes it ideal for flexible manufacturing cells.

Packaging, Labels & Logistics

LMOF is ideal for continuous coding on corrugated boxes, film rolls, shrink wraps, and multi-layer label substrates. Markings include dynamic barcodes, production timestamps, or promotional codes, even on reflective or semi-transparent materials. This eliminates the need for inkjet or thermal transfer consumables and improves line OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).

Jewellery and Luxury Goods

In high-value product sectors, such as watches and jewellery, on-the-fly laser marking is used for authentication codes, brand logos, and anti-counterfeit hologram patterns during production. These ultra-fine markings are tamper-proof, ensuring brand protection while maintaining the integrity of precious surfaces like gold, silver, and titanium.

Laboratory and Scientific Instruments

For precision labware and instruments, LMOF ensures permanent, legible identification on moving parts, glass tubes, plastic housings, and surgical tools. Markings such as calibration data, instrument IDs, and test batch IDs are generated in real-time and ensure traceability across R&D or cleanroom environments. This supports GMP compliance and ISO 17025 standards.
